Service Description

Gold and Silver Luster Class! Monday, June 5th 5-6:30 Designs without much detail are easiest when painting luster. This class will be held behind the studio, outdoors. Class will be approximately 1.5 hours. Luster provided for use in the class. Directly after the class we will load the finished pieces into the kiln to be fired. Students need to bring: -Finished pots--fired through the glaze firing (cone 6) with glaze. Luster does not adhere well to raw clay. -A respirator is required and will not be provided. N95 or KN95 masks are not the same as a respirator and is not accepted. Caution: Lusters contain solvents and should be used in a well-ventilated area. Those susceptible to odors (such as pregnant women) should not participate in this class. Dinnerware Safety - Lusters can be used on surfaces that come into contact with food and drink. Care must be taken to avoid hard scrubbing when washing, because of the possibility of scraping off the thin layer of metal or luster. Treat pieces as you would fine china. Pieces with luster will withstand repeated washings in a dishwasher, the luster will eventually wear away from dishwasher use. Hand washing recommended. Minimum age is 18
