This hand building workshop is designed for students with no experience or those with previous experience who would like to refine basic skills. This workshop is designed to primarily work with slabs of clay. However, coil and pinch techniques will be demonstrated as well. Multiple demonstrations will be shown on how to successfully hand build with slabs and how to finish pieces to hold its strength over time. Students will be able to add texture and glaze their work. Examples of projects to be created in the workshop may include but not limited to: Bowls, mugs, tumblers, spoon rest, napkin holder, casserole dish, soap dish, butter dish, vase, platter... $190 course includes: 4 classes of instruction. Each class is 2.5hrs every Thursday from 10:00-12:30pm. Clay, studio glazes and firings. At the end of this workshop, there is a one week grace period to ensure all works in progress are completed. This is an adult class and the minimum age is 18 years old. We do not accept outside clay and glazes for this class.
