Service Description
$120 per person Two classes of instruction Monday, December 4th 5-7pm Monday, December 11th 5-7pm Create a slab tray, dish or wall hanging! In the first class, students will be shown how to shape and/or build using their slab. At the end of class, students will add color to their piece. In the second class, students will use tools to carve away a design of their choice. Sgraffito is the process of carving into the surface layer to reveal the clay or color beneath. The instructor will demonstrate different tools used to carve into the clay. Students should have a design or idea in mind for the second class. Finished pieces take up to 5 weeks. NW Ceramics will email students when ceramics is done and ready for pickup. Due to limited storage space, we can only hold pottery for 6 weeks. After 6 weeks (from the date we notify that your pottery is done and ready for pickup) we will have to discard your pieces. Minimum age is 14 when accompanied by parent or guardian. If unaccompanied, minimum age is 18.
