Service Description

Two classes of instruction. The first class students will throw two plates. In the second class students will trim their plates. If students would like to throw a traditional dinner plate, they will be expected to know how to center 3-4lbs of clay. Students can choose to throw two or one smaller dish at 2lbs. Demonstrations will be done in the classes on how to achieve specific plate shapes through throwing and trimming. These two classes will be focused on techniques on throwing plates, different approaches on centering clay and pulling the clay across the wheel. The last 15-30 minutes of the second class, the instructor will demonstrate how to glaze plates. Experience is required. Students will need to know how to center their own clay. Glazing will be done individually during open studio times after plates have been bisque fired. If you are not a member, you may come back during a later open studio time to glaze for an additional cost ($6.25 an hour) to utilize the studio. 5:00-7:00pm Clay, firings and glazes included in the price. Minimum age is 18 years old.
