Throwing/Shaping Mugs and Handles

Two classes of instruction. The first class we will be working on throwing cylinders then shaping into specific mug shapes. The second class we will trim and work on pulling handles on and off mugs. Demonstrations will be done throughout the classes on how to achieve specific mug shapes and different methods on pulling handles. These two classes will be focused on refining techniques on throwing and constructing mugs. Experience is required. Students will need to know how to center their own clay. Glazing will be done individually during open studio times after mugs have been bisque fired. If you are not a member, you may come back during a later open studio time to glaze for an additional cost ($6.25 an hour) to utilize the studio. No instruction is given for glazing, you are expected to understand the process if you need to return and glaze. Monday, July 25th and Monday, August 1st. 5:00-6:45pm Clay, firings and glazes included in the price. Minimum age is 18 years old.
